Forever Changed Animal Rescue

Foster Dog #1: Gemma

Gemma was my first foster and it was an absolute blast to foster her. She is a big sweetheart, super smart, and full of sass, love, cuddles, and zoomies.

She was abandoned at a dumpsite in West Virginia and came to me at about 13/14 weeks old. She was immediately friendly but definitely had no training or guidance. We worked on getting her a good base before she went off to her new home.

In the best turn of events, a friend of mine ended up adopting her! So, I get to see this awesome puppy grow up! I am grateful for my time with her and so happy she went to an amazing home that is going to spoil her rotten and show her nothing but love. You could not ask for a better first foster!

Foster Dog #2: Jude

Jude came to me very young--my estimate is maybe 7 weeks old.  1 of 6 in his litter, he was born and lived on the streets in Texas. His mother, Paris, fought off a pack of wild strays to protect her newborn puppies and lost an eye in the battle. Thankfully, they were all transported to the DMV where more fosters were available.

Jude's name comes from his first night with me. Foster pick-up was around midnight about 45 minutes away from home. To calm him down on the drive, I sang him songs as they popped into my brain. The song that finally made him settle down and fall asleep was "Hey Jude" and thus he was named.

In great news, all the puppies and Paris were adopted and are now in their forever homes! I miss this little snuggle bug. But I am so happy he his with his forever family.  I am exceedingly grateful that I was able to give this little dude a soft place to land for a while!

Foster Dog #3: Tinker

Tinker was my first adult dog foster. She had just had 3 puppies (Tailor, Solider, and Spy) and she came to me once they were able to be go their own foster families.

I never thought a small dog could steal my heart, but this girl tugged on every heart string. She was very nearly a foster fail, but she went to the absolute perfect family and I couldn't be happier!

Foster Cats #1 & #2: Sian & Dallas

The rescue needed a last minute placement for 2 kittens, 9-week old brothers named Dallas & Sian. I had never fostered kittens before, so I scrambled to get supplies together. Less than 24 hours later, 2 kittens showed up on my doorstep!

Both kittens have now been adopted and are in their forever homes. Dallas was adopted by a family member, so I get to see him grow up which means it even better!
